Projects and Finances
International Coordination of Anthroposophic Medicine / IKAM IKAM is the international managing committee of the Medical Section at the Goetheanum. It currently consists of 24 coordinators from the professions and activities of the Medical Section. Its aim is to coordinate the spiritual-cultural, legal and socio-economic concerns of this movement. This work involves doctors, nurses, teachers in curative education, eurythmy therapists, art therapists, psychotherapists and physiotherapists, as well as patient and clinic associations, pharmacists, medicine producers, the work with students, the provision of training, and public relations. IKAM attempts to form a community and a style of leadership that leaves each individual free to act out of his own initiative, but at the same time allows for common action and responsibility. Recent results of this work have included the development of an accreditation procedure for trainings which award a diploma from the Medical Section, and a redesign of the part-time eurythmy therapy training at the Goetheanum. A large part of this work is accomplished through unpaid, donated time, and it is supported financially by contributions from associations and individuals. Our aim is to finance the activities of the coordinators entirely from the contributions of the professional fields concerned (each profession self-financed) in the long term, but during the current phase of developing a viable, socially healthy network we are reliant on donations. If you wish to support this important work, please specify as the purpose of your donation: 60445/1257, IKAM |
