International Postgraduate Medical Training / IPMT The International Postgraduate Medical Training / IPMT was initiated in 2002 by the Medical Section at the Goetheanum. It occures in a series of yearly training weeks and makes possible, that a registered medical doctor can acquire a certificate as Anthroposophic Doctor after five years. The criteria for certification can be found in the international criteria for anthroposophic doctors, finalized January 19th, 2003. In accordance with these criteria, as well as the five training modules, it is also required to have intensive self directed learning in anthroposophy, a minimum of two years supervision by an experienced mentor, and a final presentation of two self documented case histories before a panel. Allied health practitioners are now also able to join the trainings as a form of professional development. The training is structured in such a way, that the mornings are primarily of an inner development nature (Eurythmy, Goetheanistic nature studies and intensive Text Study), the afternoons are broken up into workshops in specific professional fields, and the evenings are directed to medical ethics where questions in this field are discussed. In 2011 there were IPMTtrainings in thirteen different countries, with about 900 participants and 75 trainers: Chile (Santiago), Philippines (Iloilo), Taiwan (Tauyuan), USA (San Francisco Area), New Zealand (Napier), Peru (Lima), Ukraine (Odessa), Switzerland (Dornach), Russia (St. Petersburg), Czechia (Krummau), India (Chennai), Cuba (Havanna), Schweden (Järna).
